Developments in bird tracking. A talk by Mike Bailey
Instead of a general talk about bird ringing, I’ll be concentrating more on the development of the ways in which birds are tracked. Starting with the individually numbered metal rings through to colour rings, isotopic and genetic analysis, GPS tracking and various trapping methods as well as the larger ‘citizen science’ projects such as Birdtrack.

4 Cattle Egret Heron's Green late, 1 Common Sandpiper (Dam), Kingfisher ( Herriotts and Stratford), Bearded Tit (heard from Stratford), 2 Cetti's Warbler (Stratford); between 5 and 5.30 small flocks of Starling into roost circa 2000+ in total, also c 50 Redwing and Fieldfare roosting in reeds to left of hide, 1 Grey Wagtail ( Herriotts).
